Darline DeMott and her husband Bob enjoy participating in Civil War era living history events, and have joined Potomac Citizens and Civilians of Gettysburg. Darline began sewing “at her mother’s knee” and was inspired at an early age by her grandmother’s expertise in creating beautiful garments. Mother and grandmother would examine designer fashions in high-end stores, drawing and taking notes – then recreate the latest fashions in their sewing room at home. And so it goes with their prodigy, now studying original garments with that same eye. With a quest to constantly improve accuracy, Darline enjoys attending workshops and conferences and devotes time each day to research and study. She is extremely grateful for the advice and guidance of the many kind and encouraging people in the reenacting community.

Darline and Bob have six grandchildren, residing in Germany, Hawaii, and Virginia. They visit “Nana and Pop Pop” at their log home on the Cacapon River in the mountains of West Virginia.
