The Shenandoah Valley Civil War Era Dancers (SVCWED) is an all-volunteer, non-profit group whose main goal is to raise money for battlefield preservation by teaching and enjoying early American dance. When Tom and Lesley Mack founded the group, in 2012, they concentrated on dances of the mid-1800's. Since then they have branched out to include English Country Dances of the 1700's. Along with leading dancing at living history events and reenactments, they have experience in leading a variety of community, family, church and school dances from Colonial to Contra. Performance fees are donated to preservation groups such as the Civil War Trust and the Shenandoah Valley Battlefields Foundation as well as other historically-minded groups. For a complete list of all their donations please visit their website by clicking the button.

The Macks and the SVCWED are great friends of the Homefront Herald, Inc., and the 1860s Civilian Celebration.

As we are of them, of course.
